On Wednesday 21st September, Willowbank Primary held the 'Auckland Year 6 Mandarin Speech finals'. Macleans Primary's representative was Angela Z, a Year 5 student. Even though she felt nervous about being up against students more than a year older than herself, she received a very commendable 2nd place! Angela's speech was about, 'Not harming birds'. Miss Napier, Angela's classroom teacher said, "I am very proud of Angela and always knew she had the talent to get a very high placing." Angela said about coming second in Auckland for her Mandarin speech, "Some of my class friends have been very nice and constantly ask me how I did it." Well done, Angela, a fantastic achievement! Thank you, Mrs Patterson for supporting and organising the Macleans Primary students for this event!
