Macleans Primary School is a co-educational school providing a quality education for the children who attend.
Opened in 1974 as a variable space school, it was called Murvale Primary until 1994. The school was built on the Murvale farm that was owned by the Macleans family - so both names relate back to the original owners of the land.
Macleans is now a single cell school catering for the varied learning needs of a wide range of ethnic groups.
In line with our school motto - "Tomorrow's Achievers", the school is a child centered environment offering purposeful learning programming, catering for children with special abilities, learning needs and those who need support in learning English.
The school places priority on parents and staff working together to provide a high standard of education for the children. Macleans Primary has an open door policy that welcomes parent involvement, Parent helpers are a valuable part of our organization and in this role they see at first hand, the high standards achieved in the school.
Our key goal in fulfilling our Mission Statement of stimulating children's interest in learning is to encourage them to become responsible, independent achievers, and to develop sound literacy and numeral skills, within a broad and balanced curriculum, that fosters the development of skills for learning and acquisition of knowledge.
Macleans Primary has a professional, experienced and dedicated staff who are highly skilled and who work to assist each child develop his or her full potential. Children will be educated in a caring, stable and disciplined environment, which encourages them to do their best at all times. The school provides programmes for children with special abilities and caters equally for those who need remedial work.
