12   Link   Learn Maori Korero T Reo Maori
Within this section you will learn the basics of pronouncing Māori. Throughout the website we use a macron such as ā to indicate a long vowel sound, this will be explained in more detail under the vowel section.

We acknowledge that there are a number of dialect differences that are not covered in this website or reflected in the video recordings that appear throughout Māori Language.net. These variations are found regionally throughout the country but do not prevent an understanding of the language.

It is hoped this website will be a vehicle to promote the learning of Te Reo Māori and foster a collective effort in achieving a larger number of people who understand and speak the language. Use the menu to the left to start your journey by learning the basics of pronouncing Māori. Once you have done that, continue to practice with phrases or songs.
